As an Officer, a warrior, in the Air Force, you’re tasked with upholding the constitution and protecting India’s freedom. The responsibility is enormous, but its not only about work its also about living well.

• Passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at Class 12th. Graduation(minimum 3-year degree) in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent
OR
• Qualified Aeronautical Society of India or section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
• BE/B Tech degree from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

• Passed with minimum 50% marks in both Physics and Maths at Class 12th.
  Graduation/Post Graduation in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University
OR
• Qualified in Sections A and B examination of Aeronautical Society of India or Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers with a minimum or equivalent of 60% marks

• Passed Higher Secondary Examination.
  Bachelors Degree with 60% marks in any discipline from a recognised university.
OR
• Aeronautical Society of India or section A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

• Passed Higher Secondary Examination.
• Post Graduate Degree in any Environmental Science/ Applied Physics/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Agricultural Meteorology/ Ecology/Science stream/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Geography/ Computer Applications & Environment/ Geo-physics/ Environmental Biology with the minimum of 50% marks in all papers.

The candidates below the age of 25 years must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the training. Widows/Widowers and divorcees below 25 aren’t eligible. A candidate who marries during the training will be expelled from the service and will be liable to refund all the expenditure incurred on him by the government. Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible to apply but they will not be provided married accommodation and they will not be allowed to live with their family outside the campus during the training period.

Candidates should be physically and medically fit to carry out their responsibilities and duties properly.

• 25 meter Swimming
• 4km Running in 15 minutes
• Skipping
• One set of Push-ups and sit-ups, 20 in each set
• 08 Chin-ups
• 3-4 meters of Rope Climbing

Candidates must ensure that they are physically fit before reporting for SSB interview in order to undergo various tests at Air Force Selection Board. The candidates must have the ability to run 1.6 km and do 10 push-ups and 3 chin-ups at the time of reporting.

The AFCAT exam consists of General Aptitude, General Awareness (GK), Verbal Ability, Reasoning and Military Aptitude. Candidates can check the Exam Pattern of AFCAT in below.

• All registered candidates must appear for the AFCAT online test.
• The EKT is conducted for the applicants with one of the choices as Technical Branch, comprises questions from Computer Science, Mechanical and Electronics and Electrical.
• The test comprises questions from Numerical Ability and Reasoning, and Military Aptitude Test General Awareness and Verbal Ability in English.
• The maximum mark allotted to the AFCAT examination is 300.

The online exam is conducted by the Indian Air Force. The selection process of AFCAT Exam comprises the following stages:

AFCAT Written Exam is the only criteria for clearing first stage for the Non-Technical candidates; while AFCAT+ EKT (Engineering Knowledge Test) for the Technical candidates

Those who will clear the AFCAT Written Test cutoff are eligible to appear for an AFSB interview.

The selected candidates will be allowed to proceed for medical tests.

The pay scale varies from one post to another depending upon the Grade of the particular post but it generally ranges between: INR 56,100/- – 1,10,700/- (MSP INR15,500/-)
